Full-time Operations Assistant
Full-Time Operations Assistant - (37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday) - £15,000 plus £3,000 London Weighting plus Benefits - JS Group – UKHE Central Office (London) with periodic travel within the UK

We work in partnership with universities to deliver the very best services to their students supplying a wide range of products from books, electronics, eBooks and art materials.
Right now, we are seeking an enthusiastic Operations Assistant who can support and maintain operational accuracy and efficiencies across our expanding Aspire Direct region. We support Universities in providing materials to students, in some of the biggest schemes of their type in the world – so this role an opportunity to be a central part of ensuring the success of these for the company, and for thousands of students!
Every day will be different, and the successful candidate should relish the change of focus and pace the role brings. There is no typical week, but over the course of a few days, you may be expected to;
- Visit one of our partner Universities and undertake a stock take
- Liaise with our Finance Team regarding supplier invoices and stock integrity
- Manage a student event at another of our partner Universities
- Responding to customer queries over the phone and by e-mail
- Work with our Commercial Team on the timely ordering of stock
- Update our website with exciting new offers
The successful candidate will be primarily responsible for the operational processes and activities of the region, using defined, agreed procedures. This role requires you to be accurate, compliant and methodical, and actively look to support the objectives for the region. Working with the Regional Manager you will need to focus on helping to ensure a successful P&L.
At times, you will also be required to support the Regional Manager with the commercial aims of the region, via distribution and online channels.
The successful candidate must have:
- excellent attention to detail, and adherence to agreed processes and policies
- strong communication skills, by e-mail, telephone and face-to-face
- an exemplary approach to customer service
- proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel
- a passion to support driving a successful P&L

Customer Service Assistant at the University of Southampton
Our Company is all about customer service - making customers comfortable knowing that when an order is placed it will arrive with them in a timely and accurate manner.
Right now we're looking for a Customer Service Assistant based in our University of Southampton Student Store; someone who can consistently provide friendly and engaging service to our customers.
This is a varied role working alongside a great team. In addition to answering customer queries by phone and email, you will be proactively receiving, picking and shipping orders to send to our customers.
It's a busy job and there's never a dull moment so you will need to be planned and organised in your approach to work. You will also need to be resilient and determined to please every single customer.
Your key responsibilities are:
- Responding accurately and professionally to phone calls and emails when required.
- Ensuring goods are handled in a timely and accurate fashion throughout the whole distribution process. This will include, but not limited to, Goods in, Picking, Packing, Dispatches and a variety of administrative tasks.
- General inventory control support.
It goes without saying that a high level of accuracy is a prerequisite.
You don't need to have worked in this type of business before but previous experience in a customer facing role would be advantageous.

The company’s trading hours are Monday to Friday from 9am – 5.30pm. although you will be expected to have a degree of flexibility around these hours.
